StandardAero to Support MT7 Engine Repair and Overhaul for U.S. Navy Ship to Shore Connector Fleet

StandardAero has entered into a long term agreement with Rolls Royce to provide repair and overhaul services for the MT7 marine gas turbine engine that powers the U.S. Navy’s Ship to Shore Connector. The work will be performed at the company’s Maryville, Tennessee facility, expanding StandardAero’s role in supporting propulsion systems that share common architecture with widely used military aviation engines.

MT7 Engine Shares Architecture with AE 1107C

The MT7 engine is closely related to the Rolls Royce AE 1107C, which powers the V 22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. With approximately 90 percent commonality between the two engines, the MT7 benefits from an established maintenance and supply chain ecosystem. StandardAero has served as a licensed Rolls Royce Authorized Maintenance Center for the AE 1107C since 2018, and the company also supports the AE 2100, AE 3007, and T56 engine families used across multiple military aircraft platforms.

Expanded Support for Navy Ship to Shore Connector Program

The Navy’s Ship to Shore Connector program replaces the legacy Landing Craft Air Cushion fleet and is designed to access a greater percentage of global coastlines while transporting heavier payloads. The MT7 engine is central to the vehicle’s performance, and StandardAero’s support is expected to contribute to fleet readiness as the program continues to scale.

Longstanding Partnership with Rolls Royce

StandardAero leadership noted the company’s decades long history supporting Rolls Royce engines for U.S. government customers. The Maryville facility has processed more than 600 military engines annually, supported by engineering teams that have developed approved repairs aimed at improving reliability and reducing lifecycle costs. The company emphasized that its relationship with Rolls Royce remains a key component of its military engine services portfolio.

StandardAero’s Role in the Aerospace Aftermarket

StandardAero is a major independent provider of engine maintenance, repair and overhaul services for fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft across commercial, military, and business aviation markets. Its capabilities include engine and component repair, on wing and field service support, asset management, and engineering solutions. The company continues to expand its support for propulsion systems that serve both aviation and maritime defense applications.
