SAP and S3NS Partner to Advance Trusted Cloud Adoption in France With Thales as First Strategic Customer

SAP and S3NS have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the adoption of trusted cloud services in France, with Thales becoming the first major customer to deploy SAP RISE private cloud edition on the S3NS platform. The collaboration is designed to support organizations operating in highly regulated sectors, including aerospace and defense, by providing a secure and compliant environment for critical enterprise workloads.

Strengthening Europe’s Trusted Cloud Capabilities

The agreement brings SAP’s enterprise applications and AI‑enabled capabilities to S3NS’s SecNumCloud‑qualified infrastructure, known as PREMI3NS. Beginning in the second half of 2026, SAP Sovereign Cloud will deploy SAP RISE private cloud edition on this platform, enabling customers to run sensitive workloads under French jurisdiction while maintaining access to SAP’s full innovation stack.

Data will be stored, processed, and encrypted entirely within France, aligning with national and European regulatory requirements. For aerospace and defense organizations, this model offers a pathway to modernize ERP systems while maintaining strict control over data residency and security.

Thales Becomes First SAP Customer on the S3NS Trusted Cloud

Thales will be the first company to adopt SAP RISE private cloud edition on the S3NS platform. As part of a broad transformation of its ERP environment, Thales will implement SAP’s clean core approach to unify finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement processes on PREMI3NS.

For a global aerospace and defense company operating complex industrial programs, the move reflects a commitment to long‑term agility, resilience, and digital sovereignty. Thales views the trusted cloud environment as essential to supporting its operational and regulatory requirements.

Expanding the Trusted Cloud Ecosystem

SAP’s selection of S3NS expands the ecosystem of software partners operating on SecNumCloud‑aligned infrastructure. The platform is designed to protect sensitive data from extraterritorial exposure while enabling organizations to adopt modern cloud capabilities. Commercial availability is expected by the second half of 2026.

S3NS, already serving more than sixty customers, continues to broaden its portfolio of managed services, including capabilities that support AI adoption. The company is positioned to help regulated industries transition to cloud environments without compromising compliance or security.

Implications for Regulated and Aerospace Sectors

The partnership signals a shift in how large enterprises and public sector organizations can approach cloud transformation. For aerospace and defense stakeholders, the availability of SAP’s enterprise applications on a trusted, sovereign cloud platform provides a viable path to modernize ERP systems while meeting stringent national security and data protection requirements.

The collaboration between SAP and S3NS represents a concrete commitment to delivering trusted cloud capabilities at scale, offering regulated industries a clear roadmap for adopting cloud and AI technologies within a compliant operational framework.
