Pursuit Aerospace Acquires Aeromet International to Expand Casting Capabilities Across Global Defense and Commercial Markets
Pursuit Aerospace, a global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components, has announced the acquisition of Aeromet International, a UK-based specialist in aluminum and magnesium castings for aerospace and defense. The strategic move significantly expands Pursuit’s casting capabilities, adding light alloy investment and sand casting to its existing portfolio of superalloy investment castings.
The acquisition, made from private equity firm Privet Capital, positions Pursuit to deliver a broader range of components including castings, closed-die and rolled-ring forgings, machined parts, and fabricated assemblies for aeroengine and structural aerospace applications.
A Complementary Fit for Advanced Manufacturing
Aeromet brings more than 40 years of expertise in lightweight, complex-geometry castings, serving OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across the aerospace sector. Its integrated service model includes advanced part design, testing, machining, and finishing, making it a valuable addition to Pursuit’s vertically integrated manufacturing ecosystem.
Doug Folsom, CEO of Pursuit Aerospace, emphasized the strategic alignment: “Aeromet’s deep technical expertise in complex, light alloy casting design and manufacturing is a valuable addition to our robust existing capability set.” The acquisition reflects Pursuit’s commitment to investing in scalable, high-performance manufacturing solutions that meet evolving customer demands.
Strengthening the Supply Chain for Critical Components
For aerospace professionals, this acquisition is more than a portfolio expansion, it’s a signal of consolidation and capability-building in a sector facing increasing pressure for supply chain resilience. As aircraft platforms become more fuel-efficient and lightweight, demand for precision castings in aluminum and magnesium continues to grow.
Aeromet’s thin-wall casting expertise is particularly relevant for next-generation engine architectures and structural components where weight savings and thermal performance are paramount. By integrating Aeromet’s capabilities, Pursuit strengthens its position as a one-stop supplier for critical engine and airframe components.
Privet Capital’s Exit Reflects Value Creation
Privet Capital, which acquired Aeromet in 2016, cited the company’s transformation into a top-tier aerospace castings supplier through targeted investments and operational excellence. The sale to Pursuit Aerospace marks a successful exit and a new chapter for Aeromet’s continued growth under a larger industrial umbrella.
Howard Kimberley, CEO of Aeromet, noted that the acquisition “opens new opportunities for our customers, our employees and our products,” highlighting the synergy between the two companies’ cultures and technical ambitions.
Pursuit’s Broader Mission: Integrated Excellence
Formed by the 2023 merger of Whitcraft Group and Paradigm Precision, Pursuit Aerospace has rapidly scaled into a diversified manufacturer of tight-tolerance components for commercial and military aircraft engines. With facilities across North America and Europe, the company delivers components and MRO services through lean production systems and highly integrated processes.
This latest acquisition reinforces Pursuit’s strategy of building depth across casting, forging, and machining disciplines, an approach that aligns with the aerospace industry’s push for agility, quality, and cost-efficiency.
