Bron Tapes Holding Acquires NSL Aerospace, Expanding Its Reach in High-Performance Adhesives

Bron Tapes Holding, a portfolio company of Rotunda Capital Partners, has announced its acquisition of NSL Aerospace, a Texas-based distributor of liquid adhesives and sealants tailored for aerospace applications. The move signals Bron’s intent to deepen its footprint in the aerospace sector by integrating NSL’s specialized packaging capabilities and technical expertise into its existing product portfolio.

A Strategic Alignment of Capabilities

NSL Aerospace brings more than three decades of experience serving MROs, OEMs, airlines, and military customers with custom-packaged adhesives and sealants. The company holds AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certifications and is Nadcap accredited, underscoring its commitment to quality and compliance in aerospace-grade materials.

Bron Aerotech, the aerospace division of Bron Tapes Holding, already offers a wide array of engineered films, foils, space foams, and tapes that meet stringent OEM specifications. By acquiring NSL, Bron adds a complementary layer of liquid bonding solutions to its lineup, positioning itself as a more comprehensive supplier for aerospace manufacturers and maintenance providers.

Enhancing Service and Technical Depth

According to Bron CEO Mike Shand, the acquisition is a “significant step forward” in the company’s aerospace growth strategy. NSL will retain its brand identity and operate as a division of Bron Aerotech, allowing both companies to maintain continuity while leveraging shared resources. NSL founder Jim Carney will continue in a senior leadership role, ensuring institutional knowledge remains intact during the transition.

This partnership is Bron’s first major acquisition since its own purchase by Rotunda Capital Partners in 2023. Rotunda’s focus on transforming founder-led businesses into scalable platforms aligns with Bron’s trajectory toward becoming a full-spectrum aerospace materials provider.

Contextualizing the Move Within Industry Trends

The acquisition comes at a time when aerospace supply chains are increasingly favoring vertically integrated partners who can offer both breadth and depth in materials expertise. Adhesives and sealants, often overlooked in favor of more glamorous components, play a critical role in aircraft integrity, weight reduction, and thermal management. As composite materials and additive manufacturing continue to reshape aerospace design, demand for specialized bonding solutions is expected to grow.

NSL’s strength in custom packaging also addresses a persistent challenge in aerospace logistics: minimizing waste and maximizing shelf life for mission-critical materials. Their customer-centric approach, combined with Bron’s distribution infrastructure, could offer a more agile response to fluctuating demand across commercial and defense sectors.

Equipped for the Next Generation

Bron Aerotech’s expanded portfolio positions it to serve a broader swath of aerospace customers, from Tier 1 suppliers to regional MROs. With NSL’s adhesives and sealants now in the fold, Bron is better equipped to support next-generation aircraft programs and legacy fleet sustainment alike.

For aerospace professionals tracking supplier consolidation and material innovation, this acquisition is more than a business transaction. It reflects a strategic recalibration toward integrated solutions that meet the evolving demands of aerospace engineering and operations.
