BTX Precision Expands Aerospace Footprint with Acquisition of High Tech Solutions

In a strategic move that underscores the growing momentum behind precision manufacturing in aerospace, BTX Precision has announced its tenth acquisition: Kansas City-based High Tech Solutions LLC (HTS). The deal, backed by private equity firm L Squared Capital Partners, marks a significant milestone in BTX’s consolidation strategy and signals a deeper push into the commercial, business jet, and space sectors.

Strengthening the Aerospace Supply Chain

HTS brings to the table a portfolio of largely sole-sourced components across multiple aerospace and space programs. This positions BTX to better serve OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers who increasingly rely on vertically integrated partners capable of delivering mission-critical parts with tight tolerances and consistent quality. The Kansas City location also enhances BTX’s proximity to major aerospace and defense hubs, including Wichita and St. Louis, reinforcing its national reach.

The acquisition is particularly timely given the resurgence of investment in the space sector. With NASA’s Artemis program, SpaceX’s Starship development, and a growing constellation of commercial satellite ventures, demand for precision components is surging. HTS’s established relationships and technical capabilities offer BTX a foothold in this rapidly expanding market.

Scaling with Purpose: BTX’s Nationwide Manufacturing Network

Following the integration of HTS, BTX now operates over 700,000 square feet of manufacturing space across 13 production units, employing approximately 1,200 engineers, technicians, and operators. The company’s capabilities span additive and subtractive manufacturing, including advanced 3D metal printing, laser micro-machining, aluminum vacuum brazing, and electrical discharge machining. These technologies are increasingly vital in aerospace applications where weight reduction, thermal management, and material integrity are paramount.

BTX’s broad technical portfolio also includes precision cleaning and value-added assembly services, making it a one-stop solution for aerospace customers seeking streamlined supply chains and reduced lead times.

Commentary: Consolidation Meets Capability

Rick McIntyre, CEO of BTX, described HTS as a “perfect fit” for the company’s vision of building a diversified and responsive manufacturing platform. While the language reflects typical acquisition optimism, the underlying strategy is sound. In an industry where supplier reliability and technical depth are non-negotiable, BTX’s approach to consolidation offers a compelling model.

Randall Hunt, Managing Partner at L Squared, emphasized the credibility of BTX’s investment thesis. With ten acquisitions under its belt, BTX is not just aggregating assets but integrating capabilities in a way that adds tangible value to aerospace customers. This is particularly relevant as the industry grapples with post-pandemic supply chain recalibration and the need for resilient, scalable manufacturing partners.

Looking Ahead: Aerospace as a Growth Engine

While BTX also serves medical and semiconductor markets, its aerospace and space focus appears to be the primary growth engine. The company’s trajectory aligns with broader trends in reshoring, defense modernization, and commercial space exploration. As BTX continues to expand, its ability to deliver high-performance components at scale will be closely watched by industry stakeholders.

For aerospace professionals, the BTX-HTS deal is more than a financial transaction. It reflects a maturing ecosystem where precision, agility, and strategic location are becoming decisive factors in supplier selection. Whether supporting next-generation aircraft or orbital platforms, BTX’s evolving platform is one to keep on the radar.
