Gastops Secures $18.6M U.S. Air Force Contract for ChipCHECK Engine Health Analyzers

Gastops USA has been awarded a $18.6 million follow-on contract by the U.S. Air Force to supply 145 ChipCHECK Portable Debris Analyzers, marking a significant step forward in predictive maintenance for frontline fighter aircraft. The contract, which builds on earlier research and development efforts under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, underscores the growing role of real-time diagnostics in aerospace readiness and sustainment.

ChipCHECK: Flight-Line Intelligence for Engine Health

Designed for rapid, field-based analysis of metallic debris in aircraft engine oil, ChipCHECK enables maintenance crews to identify wear particles and make immediate go/no-go decisions at the flight line. The system is specifically targeted at the F110 engine, which powers the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon, two of the most widely deployed fighter platforms in the U.S. Air Force inventory.

By providing actionable insights without the need for lab-based testing, ChipCHECK enhances operational tempo and reduces the risk of undetected engine degradation. This capability is especially critical in high-demand environments where downtime can compromise mission success.
