Italian Aerospace Exports to the United States Accelerate as Industry Leaders Gather in Seattle
Italian aerospace exports to the United States grew nearly 8 percent in 2025, significantly outpacing the overall 1.53 percent rise in total U.S. aerospace imports. According to data analyzed by the Italian Trade Agency, U.S. imports of Italian aerospace products reached 1.71 billion dollars, underscoring the continued strength of transatlantic supply chain ties as more than 20 Italian companies participate in the Aerospace and Defense Supplier Summit in Seattle.
Market Share Gains Driven by Aircraft and Rotorcraft Components

Italy increased its share of the U.S. aerospace import market to 4.05 percent in 2025, up from 3.30 percent in 2023. The strongest contributor was the aircraft and helicopter components segment, which expanded more than 23 percent year over year to exceed 1 billion dollars. These components now represent more than 60 percent of Italy’s aerospace exports to the United States, reflecting growing demand for precision structures, mechanical assemblies, and high reliability parts used across commercial and defense platforms.
Concentration Around Key U.S. Aerospace Hubs
Italian exports continue to cluster around major U.S. aerospace centers. Virginia and Texas accounted for more than half of all Italian aerospace shipments to the United States in 2025. Virginia remained the largest destination with 514.1 million dollars in imports, more than doubling its total from the previous year. Texas followed with 403.7 million dollars, an increase of more than 13 percent. Both states host significant airframe, rotorcraft, propulsion, and defense manufacturing activity, making them strategic entry points for European suppliers.
Italian Delegation Highlights Capabilities at ADSS Seattle
The Italian Trade Agency’s Houston office, working with AIAD, coordinated a delegation of 21 companies for the Aerospace and Defense Supplier Summit. Exhibitors span precision machining, forming, fastening systems, electronics, tooling, and advanced manufacturing technologies. Participating firms include A. Abete, ALA, Apeiroon, Com.Stamp, Connex Italiana, DAVI Promau, DeAMS, EIE Group, GFM, Growermetal, HTT High Tech Tools, Laga, OMA, OMPM, OVS Villella, Poggipolini, SITTI, REA Space, Umbragroup, Vimi Fasteners, and Zoppas Industries. Three startups accelerated by INNOVIT in San Francisco are also present, representing emerging capabilities in digitalization and space technologies.
Italy’s Aerospace Sector Positioned for Global Growth
Italy ranks among the world’s top ten aerospace producers and is the fourth largest in Europe. The sector generates more than 16 billion euros in annual revenue, with exports representing more than 70 percent of total production. Its industrial base includes five global prime contractors supported by a network of more than 300 small and medium sized enterprises. For U.S. manufacturers seeking resilient, high quality supply chain partners, Italy’s continued growth in the American market reflects both capability depth and long term production stability.
