Neo Space Group Acquires Display Interactive to Accelerate Global In-Flight Connectivity

Neo Space Group (NSG), Saudi Arabia’s leading commercial space services provider and a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Display Interactive (DI), a European innovator in wireless in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC). The acquisition marks a strategic leap for NSG as it expands its multi-orbit satellite communications capabilities and positions itself as a global leader in integrated inflight connectivity (IFC) solutions.

For aerospace stakeholders focused on passenger experience, fleet efficiency, and digital transformation, this move signals a new era of seamless, high-speed connectivity across airline operations.

From Collaboration to Consolidation: A Unified IFC Ecosystem

NSG and DI began collaborating in 2023, culminating in the launch of the Skywaves® satellite connectivity system in 2024. With the acquisition, NSG will integrate DI’s product portfolio into a unified IFC platform that combines intelligent traffic routing with a customizable digital passenger interface via the SkyFly portal.

This end-to-end solution leverages the SES Open Orbits™ network to dynamically route data across multiple satellite providers, ensuring uninterrupted service regardless of geography or orbit. For airlines, it simplifies deployment and reduces operational friction, offering a faster path to next-generation connectivity.

Enhancing Passenger Experience and Operational Intelligence

The combined platform promises more than just faster internet. It enables real-time entertainment, communication, and operational data exchange, allowing airlines to optimize routes, monitor systems, and personalize passenger services. As Martijn Blanken, CEO of NSG, noted, “Remaining competitive requires a strong customer focus, continuous innovation, and adaptability.”

Tarek El Mitwalli, CEO of Display Interactive, emphasized the agility and scalability of the partnership, describing it as a chance to “push the boundaries of innovation and connectivity in the most agile way.”

Strategic Alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030

NSG’s acquisition of DI aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital infrastructure, aerospace innovation, and global leadership in space technologies. By investing in advanced satellite and IFEC systems, NSG is not only enhancing its commercial offerings but also contributing to the Kingdom’s broader ambitions in the space and aviation sectors.

This move reinforces NSG’s role as a key enabler of secure, multi-orbit connectivity and a catalyst for regional aerospace growth.

Implications for Regional Aerospace Hubs

NSG’s strategy offers a compelling model for how space and aviation technologies can converge to deliver scalable, passenger-centric solutions. The acquisition may open doors for collaboration in satellite integration, digital UX design, and fleet-wide connectivity analytics.

As airlines seek to differentiate through digital services and operational intelligence, NSG’s unified IFC platform could become a benchmark for how connectivity is deployed, managed, and monetized across global fleets.
