QuickLogic Appoints Ron Shelton to Board, Strengthens Financial Oversight for Aerospace Expansion

QuickLogic Corporation, a fabless semiconductor innovator specializing in embedded FPGA (eFPGA) IP and endpoint AI solutions, has appointed Ron Shelton to its Board of Directors, effective August 7, 2025. Shelton will also serve as Chair of the Audit Committee, bringing more than 25 years of financial and operational leadership to the role.

A Veteran CFO with Deep Tech Roots

Shelton currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Syntiant Corp., a company known for its edge AI processors and sensor technologies. His prior CFO roles include tenures at Navitas Semiconductor, Adesto Technologies, GigOptix, and Cirrus Logic, spanning both public and private tech firms. He holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and is widely respected for his strategic financial stewardship in high-growth environments.

For aerospace stakeholders, Shelton’s appointment signals QuickLogic’s intent to deepen its engagement in high-reliability markets. His experience in scaling operations and navigating complex regulatory landscapes will be instrumental as QuickLogic expands its eFPGA IP licensing and FPGA Storefront business.

QuickLogic’s Strategic Focus on Aerospace and Defense

QuickLogic’s technology portfolio is increasingly relevant to aerospace and defense applications, where customizable, low-power FPGAs are critical for mission-specific computing. The company’s open-source development tools and ruggedized hardware platforms support rapid prototyping and deployment in avionics, satellite systems, and edge AI environments.

Chairman of the Board Michael R. Farese emphasized Shelton’s value to the company’s growth trajectory, noting that his financial expertise will help guide QuickLogic through its next phase of expansion into aerospace and other high-reliability sectors.

Governance as a Catalyst for Innovation

In an era where semiconductor firms are playing a pivotal role in aerospace modernization, strong governance is more than a compliance requirement, it is a strategic asset. Shelton’s appointment reflects QuickLogic’s commitment to disciplined growth, transparency, and operational excellence.

As aerospace systems become more software-defined and AI-enabled, companies like QuickLogic are positioned to supply the programmable logic and edge intelligence needed to support next-generation platforms. Shelton’s financial oversight will help ensure that innovation is matched by sustainable execution.

With Shelton on board, QuickLogic is poised to accelerate its push into aerospace and defense markets, leveraging its unique blend of customizable silicon and open-source tools. His leadership will support the company’s efforts to scale responsibly while maintaining the agility required to serve fast-evolving mission profiles.
