The Artemis Group has expanded its advisory team with the addition of Bill Weber, a senior executive with extensive experience across space, defense, cyber operations, and national security. Weber joins the Washington‑based strategic advisory and government affairs firm as it continues to support organizations shaping the future of the United States space enterprise.
Leadership Experience Across Space and National Security Sectors

Weber has served as Chief Executive Officer for multiple high‑growth technology companies operating in complex mission environments. His background spans public and private markets, with leadership roles in space transportation, cyber operations, geospatial intelligence, and advanced data analytics. The Artemis Group noted that his experience guiding organizations through technical, financial, and strategic transformation will strengthen the firm’s ability to support clients navigating the evolving space and defense landscape.
Former Firefly Aerospace CEO Brings Operational and Strategic Depth
Before joining The Artemis Group, Weber served as Chief Executive Officer of Firefly Aerospace, where he oversaw launch, landing, and orbital services for commercial and government customers. During his tenure, he led the company through significant operational expansion and positioned Firefly within the broader space transportation market.
Weber also founded First Light Acquisition Group, which completed a 230 million dollar public raise in 2021. Earlier in his career, he served as President, CEO, and board member of KeyW Corporation, a 2,000‑person company specializing in cyber operations and intelligence solutions. His leadership culminated in KeyW’s merger with Jacobs Engineering Group in 2019.
Continued Engagement in Technology, Defense, and Veteran Support
Weber has held multiple C‑suite and board positions across the technology sector and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for America’s Warrior Partnership, a nonprofit focused on reducing veteran suicide through AI‑enabled analytics and community engagement.
A native of St. Louis, Weber began his career as a Captain in the U.S. Army. An Airborne Ranger, he received the Bronze Star for his service during Operation Desert Storm. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed The Executive Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
