New Battery Technology Delivers Unprecedented Energy Density, Extended Flight Duration, and Enhanced Payload for Drone Warfare

Sion Power today announced the commercial launch of its Licerion Strike and Licerion Echo lithium-metal battery cells, engineered to meet the demanding requirements of unmanned military systems and drone warfare. Both products deliver energy density exceeding 500 Wh/kg, enabling 2-3 times longer flight duration, more than 50% increase in payload capacity, and a 30% reduction in system weight compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries.

Licerion Strike is optimized for high-performance tactical drones, offering rapid recharge and extended mission endurance. Licerion Echo is tailored for persistent surveillance and reconnaissance platforms, providing consistent power over prolonged operational periods. These advancements allow defense operators to deploy unmanned systems with greater flexibility and effectiveness in challenging environments.

The battery cells are designed and manufactured in accordance with U.S. defense sourcing requirements, ensuring reliability and supply chain security for military applications. Sion Power confirmed that both Licerion Strike and Echo are commercially available, with initial shipments scheduled to defense contractors and integrators in Q2 2026.
