Sensitron Launches 450kW TVS for 115V Mil/Aero Systems

SCP-5282-300-450-3 Delivers High-Power Surge Protection for Aerospace and Defense Applications

Sensitron Semiconductor, with over 50 years of heritage as a leading manufacturer of high reliability power electronic components for Defense, Aerospace, Space, and Medical markets, announces the launch of its SCP-5282-300-450-3 TVS module. This advanced transient voltage suppression (TVS) module is designed for three-phase 115VAC systems and provides 450kW peak pulse power handling capability, delivering robust protection for mission-critical applications.

The SCP-5282-300-450-3 is engineered to meet stringent MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160 Level 5 lightning surge requirements, featuring line-to-line clamping voltages below 421V peak and line-to-neutral clamping below 253V peak. Its bi-directional, three-phase protection ensures comprehensive defense against voltage transients, induced lightning, and voltage spikes, significantly improving system reliability and safeguarding sensitive electronic components. Trusted on next-generation fighter jets and commercial airliners for over 20 years, Sensitron’s modules meet or exceed FAA, EASA, and MIL-STD requirements and offer the industry’s leading weight-to-protection ratio.

The SCP-5282-300-450-3 comes in a low profile, flange-mounted, compact, lightweight package suitable for mounting directly to the interior surface of a vehicle, with threaded studs for heavy-duty cable connections. Custom configurations are available upon request. The module is now available for sampling, providing engineers with a robust, high-performance solution for three-phase power systems.
