Element U.S. Space and Defense Achieves CMMC Level 2 Certification

Element U.S. Space and Defense has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Level 2, a designation that confirms the company’s ability to safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information in accordance with U.S. Department of Defense requirements. The certification was awarded following an independent third party assessment conducted by a C3PAO auditor and validates that Element has implemented the full set of cybersecurity practices aligned with NIST SP 800 171.

Strengthening Cybersecurity for High Consequence Aerospace and Defense Programs

The company stated that the certification reflects ongoing investments in cybersecurity governance, secure infrastructure, incident response capabilities, and workforce training. These measures are designed to ensure that sensitive program data, customer information, and intellectual property remain protected against evolving cyber threats. Leadership emphasized that the achievement provides assurance to customers operating in highly regulated environments where data protection is essential to mission success.

Independent Validation of Compliance With DoD Standards

CMMC Level 2 certification requires adherence to a rigorous set of practices and controls that must be verified through an accredited third party assessment. Element’s successful completion of this process confirms that the company has the people, processes, and technologies required to meet the Department of Defense’s cybersecurity expectations. The certification enhances Element’s ability to support programs that require validated protection of Controlled Unclassified Information.
