ADLINK Unveils cExpress-R8: Compact AI Powerhouse for Edge and Aerospace Systems

ADLINK Technology has introduced the cExpress-R8, a COM Express Type 6 Compact module built on AMD’s Ryzen Embedded 8000 Series processors. Designed for high-performance edge computing, the module delivers up to 40 TOPS of AI inferencing power, making it a compelling solution for aerospace applications that demand compact, rugged, and intelligent processing at the edge.

Engineered for Mission-Critical Intelligence

The cExpress-R8 combines up to eight Zen 4 cores and 16 threads with AMD RDNA 3 graphics and an integrated XDNA NPU. This architecture enables real-time decision-making and advanced AI workloads without compromising power efficiency, a key consideration for aerospace platforms operating in size, weight, and power-constrained environments.

With support for up to 96GB of DDR5 memory and ECC options, the module ensures data integrity in mission-critical scenarios such as onboard diagnostics, autonomous navigation, and sensor fusion. Its ability to handle complex visual and computational tasks makes it well-suited for unmanned aerial systems, satellite ground stations, and avionics modernization programs.
