Kitchener-based advanced materials firm Alchemy has raised $6 million in funding to accelerate its dual-pronged push into defense and automotive innovation. The investment, backed by NameSilo Technologies, Pathfinder Asset Management, Pembroke Management, and others, will expand Alchemy’s Canadian manufacturing footprint and support international partnerships with allied nations. While the company’s technologies span multiple sectors, its latest developments carry notable implications for aerospace stakeholders seeking next-generation survivability and protection solutions.

Crypsis Class: Nanotech Camouflage for Modern Warfare

At the heart of Alchemy’s defense portfolio is Crypsis Class, a nanoparticle-based thermal camouflage technology designed to reduce heat signatures and enhance concealment in the field. The company is now co-developing textile applications through a newly signed partnership with a major military garment manufacturer, with discussions underway with the Canadian Department of National Defence and allied partners across NATO and the Five Eyes intelligence alliance.
