Howmet Aerospace Adds Senior Executive to Support Strategic Growth and Global Operations
Howmet Aerospace has appointed Jonathan Arena as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and Secretary, expanding the company’s Executive Leadership Team as it continues to grow its presence in commercial and defense aerospace markets. Arena will oversee legal, compliance and governance functions across Howmet’s global operations.
Arena brings extensive experience from senior roles at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Boeing and NASA, where he supported complex aerospace programs, government contracting and regulatory compliance. His background aligns with Howmet’s focus on supplying high‑performance materials and engineered components for next‑generation aircraft and propulsion systems.
Howmet’s portfolio includes jet engine components, fastening systems, structural parts and advanced materials that support lighter, more fuel‑efficient aircraft. The company holds approximately 1,200 granted and pending patents, reflecting its long‑term investment in materials science and precision manufacturing.
The addition of Arena comes as Howmet continues to expand production capacity to meet rising demand for commercial aircraft and defense platforms. The company has emphasized the importance of strong governance and compliance frameworks as it scales operations and deepens partnerships with airframe and engine manufacturers.
Arena will be based at Howmet’s headquarters in Pittsburgh, where he will work closely with the executive team to support strategic initiatives, operational growth and long‑term customer commitments.
