Sierra Space Appoints Jeff Schrader as Chief Strategy Officer

Sierra Space has named Jeff Schrader as chief strategy officer, adding a senior leader with extensive national security and space sector experience to its executive team. Schrader will guide strategic growth initiatives as the company expands its role in delivering mission critical space systems for defense, civil, and commercial customers.

In his new position, Schrader will oversee corporate development, mergers and acquisitions strategy, and long range planning to support Sierra Space’s scale and expansion priorities. The company noted that his background in strategy, operations, and customer engagement will help strengthen enterprise alignment as Sierra Space advances its portfolio of spacecraft, subsystems, and space based defense technologies.

CEO Dan Jablonsky highlighted Schrader’s combination of national security expertise and operational discipline as key to accelerating the company’s next phase of growth.

Extensive Experience Across Space and Defense Programs

Schrader brings more than 25 years of experience across government and industry. He most recently served as vice president of strategy and business development at Lockheed Martin Space, supporting a multibillion dollar business area with a global team. Prior to that, he served as president of SEAKR Engineering and Blue Canyon Technologies, leading execution and growth for more than 1,000 employees across both organizations.

His earlier career includes leadership roles at RTX and General Dynamics, as well as service as a U.S. Air Force civil servant where he advanced from financial analyst to chief financial officer for special programs and later to the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office.
