Sierra Space Names Dan Jablonsky Chief Executive Officer

Sierra Space has appointed Dan Jablonsky as chief executive officer, effective March 2, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition as the company positions itself for expanded activity across national security, civil, and commercial space markets. Founder Fatih Ozmen, who has been serving as interim CEO, will continue as chair of the board.

Leadership Experience Across Defense and Space

Jablonsky brings a background that spans propulsion, satellite systems, geospatial intelligence, and national security programs. He most recently served as chair and CEO of Ursa Major Technologies, and previously held senior leadership roles at Maxar Technologies and DigitalGlobe. His experience includes guiding large scale aerospace organizations through periods of operational growth, technology maturation, and customer diversification. He also serves on the boards of BWX Technologies and the National Intelligence University Foundation.

Ozmen noted that Jablonsky’s operational track record aligns with Sierra Space’s current trajectory as the company scales production, advances key programs, and responds to increasing demand from government and commercial customers.

Background in Defense and Engineering

Jablonsky began his career as a surface warfare officer and nuclear engineer in the United States Navy. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from the United States Naval Academy and a law degree from the University of Washington. His combination of technical, operational, and executive experience positions him to guide Sierra Space as it expands its role in space based defense capabilities and next generation spacecraft development.
