V2X Secures $4.3 Billion Contract to Sustain U.S. Air Force T-6 Fleet
V2X, Inc. has been awarded a $4.3 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract by the U.S. Air Force to provide Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) services for the T-6 Texan II aircraft. The multi-service agreement spans support for the Air Force, Navy, and Army, and is slated to run through July 2034.
Strengthening Pilot Training Infrastructure
The T-6 Texan II is a cornerstone of U.S. military pilot training, serving as the primary trainer for thousands of aviators across the services. V2X’s role will be to ensure the availability of safe, flyable aircraft through supply chain management, maintenance coordination, and depot-level support. The company’s work will be distributed across multiple U.S. military bases, reinforcing the operational readiness of one of the most widely used training platforms in the Department of Defense.
Jeremy C. Wensinger, President and CEO of V2X, emphasized the company’s pride in supporting national readiness, while Vinny Caputo, SVP of Aerospace Systems, highlighted the program’s foundational role in shaping future military aviators.
Aerospace Industry Impact: Supply Chain as Strategic Asset
While the contract centers on military pilot training, its implications for the broader aerospace industry are notable. The scale and duration of the agreement reflect a growing recognition of supply chain resilience as a strategic asset. V2X’s embedded support model, integrating logistics, technology, and personnel, mirrors trends in commercial aerospace, where lifecycle sustainment and predictive maintenance are becoming central to fleet management.
The company’s integration of AI and machine learning into operational workflows also signals a shift toward data-driven readiness. As aerospace platforms become more complex, the ability to anticipate parts demand, optimize inventory, and reduce downtime will be critical across both defense and civilian sectors.
A Vote of Confidence in V2X’s Capabilities
With a global workforce of approximately 16,000 professionals, V2X has positioned itself as a key player in mission-critical support across national security, defense, and international markets. This latest award underscores the Air Force’s confidence in V2X’s ability to deliver consistent, high-performance logistics over nearly a decade.
For aerospace stakeholders, the contract offers a glimpse into the future of sustainment: one where digital integration, cross-service coordination, and long-term partnerships define operational success.
